NetCraftsmen Planning for CiscoLive in Las Vegas Jul 10 - Jul 14 |
|
We are working on our plans to attend CiscoLive Networkers in Las Vegas in July, and hope you are too. In case you need it, here is a link to registration:

We will have a booth again this year, and will be bringing over half of our technical staff! So If you want to meet Pete or catch up with Denise, please visit our booth # 2348 in the Exhibit Hall near the Certification Lounge.
We are also pleased to announce that two members of Chesapeake NetCraftsmen have been selected and will be featured in the Networkers Technical Program at CiscoLive 2011. Dr. Peter Welcher and Paul Borghese are among a select group of Cisco experts who will educate and share knowledge with more than thousands of participants this year in Las Vegas, July 10 - 14, 2011.
Pete will be co-presenting two labtorial sessions:
- LRTCRT-5205 Configuring Nexus 7000 Virtualization : This 4 hour session starts with a lecture providing a brief orientation for Nexus 7000 hardware and software, and then introducing NX-OS CLI innovations with a focus on Virtual Device Contexts (VDCs). A two-hour plus hands-on lab follows, where attendees will provision VDCs and configure VLANs and routing on a Nexus 7000. This is a new lab session preparing you for DCNI-2 test / DCNIS specialization. Some familiarity with the Cisco IOS CLI and routing/switching is expected.
- LRTCRT-5206 Configuring Nexus 5000 Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) : This session introduces the Nexus 5000 and representative designs, then discusses Data Center Bridging (DCB) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), and how these technologies are implemented on the Nexus 5000. The attendees will then experiment with FCoE in about two hours of hands-on Nexus 5000 labs configuring both LAN and FCoE SAN 10 G connectivity. This is a new lab session preparing you for DCNI-2 test / DCNIS specialization. Some familiarity with the Cisco IOS CLI and routing/switching is expected.
Paul will be supporting one labtorial that is presented twice:
- LTRCCIE-4046 Cisco 360 Approach to CCIE R&S Skills Evaluation and Preparation : Making the leap from Professional Network Engineer to Expert can be daunting. To be considered an expert in Routing and Switching you need to gain expertise and skills in all areas outlined in the CCIE R&S curriculum. There is no better way to understand your strengths and weakness and what it takes to structure a preparation plan than to take a CCIE R&S pre-assessment diagnostic lab and review your results with an authorized Cisco instructor. This 4-hour session will enable you to participate in the hands-on practical Cisco 360 CCIE R&S pre-assessment, obtain a scoring report, and evaluate the results with an experienced instructor. Additionally, as a participant, you will have the ability to engage in an open forum and have your questions answered by a panel of Sr. instructors and mentors from the Cisco 360 Learning program.
