Terry Slattery (CCIE #1026 and Principal Consultant) and Steve Meyer (Senior Consultant) will be discussing healthcare network requirements at the March 22, 2011 C-MUG session. They have found that the major difference in a healthcare network from a typical enterprise network is in the highly specialized applications, which range from Electronic Medical Records to telemedicine. There are also many applications in common with other enterprise networks, such as electronic mail, collaboration, video conferencing, telepresence, and mobile connectivity. At this C-MUG meeting, we will take a look at what we find in healthcare networks (the causes of network pain) and their operational requirements (the treatments).

Even if you are not involved with a healthcare network, you will learn about how resiliency, high performance, low latency, ease of troubleshooting, and operational awareness are factors that apply to both healthcare and to enterprise networks.
